Put a ring on it

When searching for a little something special for Valentine’s Day gift this year, I came across a perfect, simple piece for Brandon.  Between his work at the fire station and his early mornings out in the woods, his wedding band spends a lot of time on the ring stand in our room.  Qalo has come out with an easy solution, a silicone wedding band that can safely be worn wherever your day takes you.

And of course when I picked out Brandon’s I grabbed one for myself.  I can’t wait to wear mine during outdoor event set-ups while I am lugging around boxes and moving tents and tables, you know, the glamorous side of event planning.

Have you heard of Qalo and their mission to empower people to be live their best life possible?!   These are great for gym rats too!

Five on Friday

This short week is coming to an end and I am ready for the weekend!  And to kick-off the weekend right, I am linking up with the lovely ladies of the Five on Friday link-up party to share what I have been loving this week!

{one}
Snow!!  Growing up at the beach, snow days were few and far between, but this week we have been transported to a winter wonderland!

{two}
New pens!  That may be the biggest nerd statement ever, but I am such a sucker for a good planner and fabulous new pens!

{three}
Finishing up my personal training recertification on those freebie snow days!  After debating letting my certification expire, I realized it was only an asset to keep it.  Wanna work out?!

{four}
After reading reviews and scoping out the options, I am hoping on the band wagon and ordered some great looking Bare Minerals products.  I don’t know what it is, but new products are the best!

This weekend I am putting together social events for a local conference and I couldn’t be more excited for Sunday evenings S’mores and Hot Chocolate Bar set-up that will, hopefully, be a big hit!

What are your favorite things from this week?  Join the link-up and share today!

Spring Baby Shower

Parties are my favorite.  Give me an occasion and I will plan an event to celebrate.  When a co-worker announced she was expecting, I called dibs on party planning committee.

I wanted to put together some event styling ideas to help streamline my focus so I spent my snow day playing around with Baby Shower layouts.
 For the little baby girl due this April I figured a spring theme would be perfect.  With a few floral accents and clean, light display, simple worked best for this set-up.

Grab these perfect chalkboard signs from Michael’s and vases from Ikea.

A Spring Affair

As we sit at home with snow all around, I can’t help but stare at our fridge with wedding invitations teasing of warmer days and tropical beaches.  As we work on the logistics of getting our beach-loving butts to Jamaica for my beautiful friend Amy’s wedding, I may as well start shopping for the closer wedding we have this April.

Brandon’s buddy is getting married this April to his lovely fiancĂ© here in Virginia.  I love weddings!  I love love, I love receptions, I love the ambiance of it all… and I love shopping for a perfect new look to wear as we dance the night away.

Here is my current obsession for a spring affair:

Dinner of Champions

With Brandon's crazy fireman work schedule I find myself eating many meals at home, by myself, on the couch and usually with said “meal” consisting of chips and dip (healthy, I know!).  Oh, but I don't mind, chips and dip are by far my favorite…chips and salsa to be more specific.

Beanitos has come out with a great brand of bean chips.  A twist on the traditional corn tortilla, these gluten-free treats are the perfect go-to snack (or dinner).  Not only are the regular Restaurant Style chips delicious, these bean chips come in a variety of chip and puff flavors.  Definitely delicious!

And while I always enjoy my dinner of dip, I am always on the hunt for something a little more adult and a less dorm-style dish. So what are your go to meals when you are cooking for one?

{*Beanitos was sent to me for review through Influenster but all opinions are my own.}
